New-build, Covestro Campus
The Covestro AG is one of the world’s leading polymer companies. A new campus with headquarters building is to bring together all Covestro employees at a single location in Leverkusen.
As part of the Lot 1 sub-project, OBERMEYER Project Management GmbH was awarded the project management, purchasing support and contract & claim management during the construction phase.
The building, covering a gross floor area of 24,000 m², defines an architectural highlight in the CHEMPARK Leverkusen. Covestro stipulated that the interior must communicate its ‘C³’ company values – curious, courageous and colourful – to the office premises concept. This is why an innovative and high-calibre design of workplace concept with modern ‘worlds of work’ was employed here. The Lot 1 sub-project comprised the building with office workplaces featuring ‘Open Space’ and ‘Activity-based Working’, an ‘Idea-Lab’, a conference area and a ‘Town Hall’. This involves a central atrium area that can also be used as a venue for events.
The project was planned by a chief planner (HENN) and an interior designer (KINZO). Construction work was performed by five large general contractors.
